A Telling of The Buried Moon

Today I share with you a telling of one of my favourite old stories. It’s a tale from England about the Moon and how she gets snagged down in some tree roots and is troubled by the Quicks and Bogles.

Once again, I mentioned the phenomenal Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes and got the title of her well-known book wrong. Ha! My memory is not was it used to be and the book is actually called “Women Who Run with the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype”. See if you can’t get the audiobook which she narrates (and sings!) herself. She has narrated most, if not all, of her many books.

The story I read is called The Buried Moon, also sometimes called The Dead Moon. It is an old tale and you can find many retellings of it. And some gorgeous illustrated books as well.
