Hatha yoga with various expressive arts to promote embodied mindfulness. Kind of like kindergarten for grown-ups.

Fully Woven’s Home Studio* – Autumn/Winter Workshops

Within our depths we all contain parts of ourselves that we instinctively and unconsciously hide. Jungian psychology understands these depths as our shadow selves and our life’s work is to see, accept, and ultimately integrate our shadows. The following workshops are a few ways we can gently trawl these depths and bear witness to our shadow self while still keeping our revelations private and unseen. What you reveal is up to you.

All workshops are offered in two parts with a week for contemplation between group sessions. We will open and close all workshops with meditation and gentle yoga. Artistic skill is not necessary and all materials are provided (you’re welcome to bring your own).

*Fully Woven’s Home studio located in East Van and the exact address will be provided after registration.

Shadow Cards: Reviewing Self

Have you ever hesitated to write your thoughts down because you were afraid someone would read them? How about covering your words with collage? This way you get the words out while also keeping them to yourself. No one will know what your collage means unless you tell them. Actually, your collage may provide a fresh look into your thoughts.

Thurs, Sept 7 and Thur, Sept 21 from 6pm-8pm
Suggested contribution: $40 – $60 for both workshops

Shadow Map: Reconsidering Self

Have you ever created a timeline of your lived experiences? A visual memory-map of your life thus far. Did you include the routes not taken? Let’s take time to acknowledge those unlived adventures and make a different sort of map. By marking our lost opportunities we are essentially mourning them and welcoming them back into our being.

Thurs, Oct 5 and Thurs, Oct 19 from 6pm-8pm

Shadow Creature: Reclaiming Self

Part of the process of integrating our shadow selves is giving them substance which we can comprehend and befriend. Making a creature is one way to give our shadow self form. Any material could be used to make these and they tend to morph in shape as you work on them. Maybe conceal some shadow cards or maps inside? These are covert creatures.

Thurs, Nov 2 and Thur, Nov 16 from 6pm-8p
Suggested contribution: $40 -$60 for both workshops

Shadow Lantern: Revealing Self

A shadow can only exist when a source of light is present. You are that source of light. You’ve done a lot of shadow work these last few weeks and now is the time to allow your illuminated wisdom to shine forth. Light your lantern in the darkness and allow your shadow to dance.

Thur, Nov 30 and Thur, Dec 14 from 6pm-8pm
