We live in an overstimulated society. Here’s your invitation to disconnect from outer distractions and reconnect with your inner wisdom.

Silent Day Retreats

“Our neon times have neglected and evaded the depth-kingdoms of interiority in favour of the ghost realms of cyberspace. Our world becomes reduced to intense but transient foreground. We have unlearned the patience and attention of lingering at the thresholds where the unknown awaits us. We have become haunted pilgrims addicted to distraction and driven by the speed and colour of images.”
– John O’Donohue, Beauty: The Invisible Embrace

Here’s an invitation to take a day for yourself – to disconnect from distraction and to reconnect with your quiet wisdom – to relax deeply.

These are gentle retreats focused on resting and restoring. A past participant likened the retreat to kindergarten, “we played, took a nap, played some more, had a snack, made something with paper and paste, and then took another nap”. If you’re looking for a recharge then this could be just what you need!

Together we’ll explore yin, restorative, dru, and yoga nidra interspersed with periods of both guided and silent meditation in the Vipassana tradition. There will be space for journal writing and/or collage, and we’ll take time to reflect and share insights.

When: Most statutory holidays from 10am – 4pm
Where: Various venues around East Vancouver and the Downtown Eastside.

Suggested donation: $40 – $80; no one turned away for lack of funds. (There is always one karma spot available – help out during the retreat in exchange for attendance.)

Next retreat March 30, 2018

East Vancouver location to be determined.
